Topic: Ridiculous T-Shirts Thread |

Yesterday, I passed a woman who was wearing a T-Shirt that said: "I have multiple personalities, and none of them like you." |
Are there Magic Café t-shirts? |

I saw one at the mall that said, "It's ok to be ugly, but you're overdoing it." I have one that says, "Yet, despite the look on my face, you're still taking." |

:). In my defense, I'm on the stinkin' iPad this morning. Nice catch! |
I don't get where the mistake is supposed to be. "I have multiple personalities, and none of those personalities has any affection for you" is too long for a t-shirt. |
Whether it fIts on a T-shirt or not is irrelevant to its grammatical accuracy, but a much more efficient fix would be to change "like" to "likes." |
Ah, you meant the use of the word "like.". I was referring to the subject/verb agreement error, which perhaps subconsciously, you fixed! (By using "has" instead of "have"). |
Not sure if the mistake was the T-shirt woman's or mine. Technically, I would go with likes, but like doesn't grate on my ears. I suppose that's because "none of them likes" is logically equivalent to "all of them don't like." |
Now I'm confused! I didn't notice the missing "s", but now that you've pointed it out, it simply must be there. Or maybe not. :) We've certainly managed to derail this thread, however. My absolute favorite t-shirt can be found on this website: http://www.engrish.com/ But it is obscene, so I can't tell what it says or post a picture here at the Café. :( |

I'd be large amounts of money that there are. |
This one was a bumper sticker, not a t-shirt: "My Dog is Smarter then Your Honor Student." On a truck parked outside of the languages building at my University. |
On a woman: "I'm not with stupid anymore." |
I've always liked that "Stop staring at my t*ts..." T-Shirt... :ohyes: |

John
I don't know about "tattoos," but didn't Chung Ling Soo (William Robinson) once have a beautiful Asian banner that turned out to be an ad for a funeral parlor? And I think someone told me the characters on the other side of the "Buddah Production Screen" actually said "Cigarettes Sold Here"! |
