Not sure what they will use as they went to a lot of places. We shot over 12 hours. What follows are excerpts from a recent press release.

The History Channel's Brad Meltzer's Decoded! will present Houdini Museum magicians and experts Dorothy Dietrich and Dick Brookz in "Houdini Murdered?" about Houdini's unusual death that will air on January 4, 2012, Wednesday, 10:00PM and January 5, 2012 Thursday, 2:01AM: The History Channel segment tells of the mysteries of Houdini's death and some never before revealed secrets about what happened in Houdini's dressing room when he was punched in the stomach that led to his untimely death. More of this recent information about his death can be found at the Houdini Museum website at http://houdini.or/houdinimurdered.html

After you read it send us some input on the concept magicus@comcast.net or here at the forum.

Plus three other TV shows this season.

Following that The Travel Channel's Mysteries At The Museum will repeat the story from Scranton's Houdini Museum about one of Houdini's most controversial escapes on Tuesday, January 10, Mysteries at the Museum 8:00PM E/P and Wednesday, January 11, Mysteries at the Museum 3:00AM E/P. The Travel Channel calls its segment, "Keys to Houdini's Secrets". It features Dorothy Dietrich, celebrity magician and escape artist, who is a director of Scranton's Houdini Museum. A video promo can be seen at http://www.travelchannel.com/Video/keys-to-houdinis-secrets-16342. We tried not to trash Houdini.

Additionally, a recent episode (11/28/2011) of the hit FOX TV show House (MD), talked about Houdini Museum director Dorothy Dietrich's historic bullet catch stunt in a three minute segment of the episode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7equuO5llHk

Internationally a forth television story from the Houdini Museum was shown several times this past winter emanating from Canada "Deals From The Dark Side" with host star escape artist Steve Santini who claimed to be inspired by Dorothy's far out exploits. That is expected to air in the United States shortly. (http://www.rogersmediatv.ca/pr_detail.php?id=453) Deals From the Dark Side... "stops in Scranton, PA, to meet with a crew of Houdini experts and the honor of placing a new bust on Houdiniís grave in New York" To see a video of the new bust go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynJLhDob5mM

A world wide New York Times half page news story, October 24, 2011, about Houdini's grave site being restored secretly by what has come to be called The Houdini Commandos from Scranton's Houdini Museum. http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/10/24/houdini-returns-of-course/?scp=1&sq=houdini%20grave&st=cse Looking for people around to join our Houdini Commandos movement.

The Houdini Museum is the only building in the world dedicated to Houdini. It has the largest permanent display to the general public anywhere, of artifacts, historical displays and information on Houdini. The Houdini Museum has been on more national television shows than all other North East Pennsylvania attractions put together. The museum has gotten rave reviews all over the world. So many tourists have come to the City of Scranton that Mayor Doherty and the Office of Economic community Development has awarded a $30,000 matching facade grant to Scranton's non profit Houdini Museum. ( http://thetimes-tribune.com/news/scranton-oecd-awarding-facade-work-grants-1.1036934?localLinksEnabled=false ) This is a much needed grant to dress up the exterior of the building. Now they must match the $30,000. The Houdini Museum is a 501 C-3 non profit museum so contributions are tax deductible. Contact the museum for further information.

We also have a continuous traveling Houdini exhibit which was just in Florida and is back in our warehouse being refurbished. ( http://HoudiniDisplays.com )

We have just added a third page as well.

Most of this was discussed on Decoded, but not sure what if any they will use.

Would like members and Houdinites opinions on this.

Why didn't they air this closer to Halloween, since that's when he died?

I set my Cable Box to record this so I can watch it without commercials.

If I recall we did not shoot it until late September.

That was their schedule to come to the East coast for this show scheduled for Jan.

Besides everyone else does Houdini in Oct. Look at our other appearances.

Houdini has appeal all year.

We got a game for Christmas called "Eye Know" and it had three trivia questions which I knew...

1. T/F: Houdini Died during the Water Torture Illusion?

2. Houdini was born in Israel, Hungary or Germany?

3. What was Houdini's real name before he become Harry Houdini?

In my opinion I don't think he was murdered. From all the books I read on him it seemed like he had was extremely close to bess. My opinion did not change after I saw this episode. Just an opinion, Thanks

For more information about the backstage (staged? Just kidding!) happenings go to our four pages on the Dick Brookz/Dorothy Dietrich Theory on the internet as well as a lot more from others:

We will be adding to this as we find time.

Houdini murdered does not mean Houdini was murdered or was meant to be killed, but because that was the title of the recent TV show.
