Topic: I got my first Vegas gig!
Message: Posted by: tiriri (Jan 10, 2012 06:21PM)
Hello and Happy New year to everyone!

I just got my first gig in Las Vegas :) I will be doing mentalism, hypnosis and motivational talks at a corporate event and I am really excited because as a foreigner it feels like a big deal!

So I will be really happy to get some advice from the experts regarding places to visit, other mentalists-hypnotists shows to go to, and places or people related to mentalism that I might be able to run into.

Thanks for your comments and best regards from the middle of the world!

Giovanni.

Gerry Mccambridge has a decent mentalism show. I enjoyed it.
I also recommend Mac King (excellent) and P&T (nice).

Number 1 - Paul Vigil
Number 2 - Gerry McCambridge
Number 3 - Penn and Teller
Number 4 - Mac King
Number 5 - phantom of the opera

Prepare to be blown away. The place is exceptional!! It's by far my favourite place in the world with many amazing people and friends.

You must visit the strip at day and at night.

Most importantly, explore and try to take it all in!

I think Colin got it mostly right, except that I would probably put "O" before Phantom. Paul is great!

I was just glad to see this thread was asking "What should I see and do?", rather than the question we usually get: "What effects should I perform?" ;)

If you do want to see Phantom in LV, you might want to move it up to an earlier visit. It's set to close on 9/2.

Thank you guys for all your good comments and recommendations!

I am really looking forward to it :) I will be staying and doing my presentations at a hotel called "The Venetian" which is right there in the strip, so I am really excited about this event.

Yours,

Giovanni.

Venetian's next door to Harrah's (where Mac King is) and across the street from Caesar's (Paul Vigil)

There is a Caveman named Kevin performing downtown. I think his show might be good, but it's just my intuition on steroids. He's on the Café here somewhere I think. Kevin????

I have been in Vegas and watched Gerry McCambridge, Phantom of the opera, Lance Burton (really impressed), P&T and McBride.
All of them have a different "air" like it's the Red Bull of showtime. Of course (!) I didn't spend even 1 minute or 1 cent at Criss Angel (this love or hate guy) but to my surprise the P&T show just didn't "fill" the indeed huge theatre. I reckon that P&T are ideal for TV shows where the camera shots and zooming makes them really own the stage.

Unforgettable experience, unforgettable city...

I´m going to Vegas next Monday!

So thank you all again for your good thoughts and recommendations :)

I will definitely try to go to some of the shows and places you recommended.

Best regards from the middle of the world!
