Topic: Prototyping a gimmick

I have a closeup effect that uses a gimmick that I created myself about half a year ago. I'm interested in maybe selling this effect, but I haven't any idea about the logistics of selling a trick that requires the manufacturing of a gimmick. The gimmick isn't electronic or very difficult to construct, but it is time consuming. It's a good days work to make one. Assuming the effect is worth the cost of a days work, would it make more sense to make and sell these myself? or is there a standard way to solve this problem?

As a designer for a large manufacturing company, I might suggest having a designer, or design engineer look at what you have, your build procedure, and materials. They may be able to suggest a new way to do it, or cost and time savings approaches to do the same thing....
