Topic: Time for an edit
Message: Posted by: landmark (Jun 7, 2012 09:09PM)
I made an edit to a post that I had written and posted 10 minutes ago. The time stamp on the post stayed the same. Very interesting.

I just edited this 15 minutes later. Time stamp the same.

I'm not surprised by this. I don't claim to know all the ins and outs of the Café, but if the mods permit edits within a half hour (I think that's the rule, I could be wrong) of the post, then an edit would only represent a change to the OP. Seems logical to me, but maybe I'm missing something.

I sense a prediction effect...

I just learned that if you try to edit a post, even a minute after you posted it, if someone responds to the original, it won't be edited. That has nothing to do with OP, by the way. :)

My posts count hasn't moved at all in the past 18 months or so. Weird.
