Pleased to announce the release of a collection of 4 brand new Bizarre routines. This PDF is entitled A Lightning Rod to the Spirits!

Priced at 9.99 (yes, that's an inverted 666!), this 24 page PDF contains a collection of 4 brand new routines. Routines that are proud to have their feet planted very firmly in the world of Bizarre Magick! Utilising the most common and simple props (a thumb tip for example and a magic colouring book - not to mention a frying pan!), these routines will take your audience on a genuinely freaky journey. There are no half measures here - these routines are designed to actually spook an audience!

The routines feature at their core common, everyday items such as a watch, a sachet of salt, a child's colouring book and yes, a frying pan. The reasoning behind this is that it is when the mundane and the ordinary become infected with the supernatural that an audience will begin to get genuinely affected by your performance.

The routines included are:

TIME AT LAST. Traumatic events cause a nurse's watch to house an unhappy spirit.
OUT OF THE FRYING PAN. Like a bad joke gone wrong, an unusual murder weapon continues to exhibit homicidal tendencies.
DHAMPIRE. After a lifetime in the service of his dark masters, a Dhampire demonstrates just exactly what it is that makes him different from both Human and Vampire.
THE COLOURING-IN BOOKS. A proud father finds out that his daughter's newly acquired artistic skills come from a very dark place. Time to call in the local vicar!

All effects are practically self-working, allowing the performer to concentrate on presentation and atmosphere.

Bizarre magician Lee Enfield had this to say about A Lightning Rod to the Spirits:

"This. Was. Awesome. Great, simple routines. Great stories. And all ready to perform with the minimum of practice. What more could a Bizarrist ask? As much as I love Paul Voodini's 'ungaffed' work, I would love to see him do more stuff like this!"

Anything Paul writes is going to be pure gold. It is no secret that I am a fanboy!
Just one request Paul, can you just stop writing until after October, I got boxes to paint!
But seriously, this sounds totally intriguing, be hitting that PayPal as soon as I get home.

Just finished reading this, and it reminds me of my favourite bits of "Devil of a bar and pub".

The premise is simple - take simple "magic tricks" and give them a skeleton and an emotional payoff.

Paul Bell is becoming frighteningly as good as the heroes - DeNomolos, Shane, KOTAH, Poinc.
I love the fact that when he's reaching out for gimmicks, they are the simplest ones available.

Great stuff!

I like Docc Steve finished reading Paul Bell book. The stories are wonderful dark and scary. The things you need to achieve the effects are small and light. I read many books in my time and I must say that Paul is getting better every time he brings out another book. With Paul being a top line professional you will get a top line book. Haloween is very close Paul's new book will be what you will need to create a great evening full of enjoyment of the dark kind.
Do yourself a favour don't pass this book by....
Cheers
Roni

Gulp! High praise indeed!! To be honest, I had a lot of fun devising the stories and ways to integrate the magic so that it seemed natural and integral rather than just bolted on (as it were). I think I must have a slightly disturbed imagination, a product no doubt of all the Marvel comics and black & white horror/sci-fi movies I consumed as a kid!

Now the wind howls and the days become darker day by day,
I become more and more thrilled by this lightning rod to the spirits.

Me neither! I have an old battered frying pan at the back of cupboard in my kitchen that was the inspiration for "Out of the Frying Pan". That and my ex-wife of course. ;)

Really enjoyed this Paul; I always have fun reading your work. It's always entertaining as well as being smart and insightful.
A joy to read.
What's next in the pipeline in the way of releases?
Anymore from Cathy Shadows?

Cathy Shadows is on hiatus at the moment, but maybe she will return one day!

Just announced something big on my website (Room 237), although it's quite exclusive. On a more general note, look out for the Ghosts of Sherlock Holmes! Coming soon! :)
