I joined the AA, but they didn't mention any of this. Mind you, the guy who fixed my car looked a little dodgy.

I do know something of this group, they used to meets at the 'tweedale', get juiced up and make for the woods. It was (back in the 80's) a huge group led by a rather diminutive gent whose name I do not remember. I think drugs were involved as I saw a werewolf once!
There was indeed something quite sinister behind the group that most of the members were quite unaware of. But that, as they say, is another story.
