Anyone know of cheap B&B nearby.

With flying in from Holland, taxis and then 70 quid a night at the Priory it's getting a bit steep.

Unfortunately, £60-70 is about right for Hitchin.

Thanks for that pal.
I'll check it out.
Otherwise I'll have to offer to share a double with someone .
And that's a whole new can of worms. :)

Thanks Iain, will do.

Managed to get a flight that lands at Luton at 9:40.
Run through check in,
Grab a taxi,
10 miles to the Priory.

It's going to be tight. :hmm:

Ten miles in a taxi will be expensive. You might be better off getting a train.

I've found that there is a bus route, but I'd arrive at 11:00 am

Steve, you should consider to rent a car for this weekend.
When we were in Hitchin in April we realized that a rental car for the weekend is about £ 70 - and ONE way with the taxi from Luton to the Priory is between £ 90 and £ 100!

Cheers

Thomas, did you get a taxi from the rank at Luton? They're ruinously expensive because the journey is on the meter like you are in London in a black cab.

It's only about 9 miles along the A505, so it'd be better to book a taxi from a taxi office in Luton, and then get a taxi from the rank at the airport to the taxi office.

Heathrow is connected by an express train or tube to paddington, and then there is a mainline service from Easton to hitchin....much cheaper....

Don't know Cats UK John.

I was thinking Lorraine Chase. Now that shows my age.

You could hire a car and then just sleep in it...
