Topic: Trying to find a packet effect...
Message: Posted by: Stephon Johnson (Jul 18, 2013 11:54AM)
I'm looking for a packet trick that fits the following theme:
1) Show all different cards in a packet.
2) Person freely chooses 1 face down.
3) When selection is revealed it has all faces or completely different message.
4) All other cards are blank

Can be words, symbols or pictures. Is such an effect commercially available?
THANKS in advance!
Stephon

I'm a little confused by what you mean at #3.

Hi Stephon,

Like Pepka I am confused too about point number 3. For the rest, yes there are quite a few effects that fit your criteria perfectly and the effect has been around for ages - and it's strong. Please feel free to PM me.

Best,
Vlad

Folks, what I meant by #3 is that the selection, when revealed, the card face has changed to show the faces of all the cards and the rest are blank. So in effect, to select one is to select all. I'm keeping it "bare bones" here for simplicity, but trust me when I say my routine and storyline works for what is occurring. Thanks everyone!

You could do what is commonly referred to as an "8 Card Brainwave" for the handling.

I can't think of a card which has 8-faces on it - though they do make 52-on-1 cards. Thus, you could fan out 8 cards, and tell someone to think of any of 52-cards in a deck. Have someone name a number from 1-8 and fairly count to their card - no spelling or odd movements. Show the remaining cards blank and then turn over the selected card and it will have their selected card on there somewhere.
