Topic: Penn & Teller's See-Thru Cups and Balls?
Message: Posted by: Chris H (Jan 12, 2004 05:27AM)
Just a quick inquiry?

Someone mentioned in a magic forum somewhere recently that Penn & Teller do a Cups and Balls routine with see through cups.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this on video, or if I can download it from somewhere? This kind of a thing really appeals to my sense of humour.
Hee hee hee hee.

Cheers,

It is just basic cups and balls routine done with clear plastic cups and so much speed that it becomes very confusing and difficult to follow. There isnīt any magic in it. They just do it so fast that you canīt really follow it.

It is at least in one of the Mysteries of Magic T.V. shows.

It is an EXTREMELY brilliant routine. They actually caught a lot of flack when they first performed it for "exposure". They, quite obviously, did NOT expose anything. What they did was narrate an entirely different method than what they were actually doing at the time (wickedly beautiful). It did move very fast (out of necessity, considering what they were pulling off). Great stuff nonetheless, you're going to love it.

They also did it on Leno and on The Unpleasnt World of Penn and Teller.

They also did on their 1997 A.B.C. Special.

The Penn and Teller cups and balls is a great piece of entertainment. If you are a Penn & Teller fan, a must view is their seminar on video at The Museum Of TV & Radio in New York and Los Angeles; the museum also has an interesting interview of them by Alan King.
