|Topic: #196 - School Shows, Libraries and Kids...Oh My!|
This week we go where The Magic Word has never gone before: kid shows. I recently took advantage of a great opportunity when there were two, uniquely qualified and very successful children entertainers at the same place at the same time.
Julian Franklin, author of "Kid Control" and regular columnist in the long running column "The Business of Magic" in The Linking Ring, performs hundreds of shows annually around Texas. He performs for schools when they are in session and in libraries during the summer months.
David Hinkin worked for the McDonald's corporation for 37 years as a representative who promoted their brand to hundreds of thousands of children over the years all while in make-up and wearing funny looking clothes.
Both of these gentlemen have a lot of years of experience they shared in this week's podcast on The Magic Word. In particular, they talk about scripting, how to do it and it's importance. They talk about working within the school system as well as working within the politics of big corporations. There is a lot of information here in less than one hour which you can hear at: http://themagicwordpodcast.com/scottwellsmagic/school-shows You can also view photos and get links to websites that Julian recommends. Of course you can listen through to the podcast through the iTunes store. Just look for The Magic Word Podcast in the podcast store.
