How does one get a volunteer up on stage, help out in an illusion where he/she is exposed to the gaff ( eg. dagger chest / flaming head chest) and then allow him/her to go back into the audience without blabbing out secret to his/her friends in the audience?

Of course the choice of volunteer selection is one but am wondering if there are any other "tricks" that can be used to address this.

No, you approach them before the show, just like Copperfield and other illusionist. Have them sign a confidenial agreement not to expose the secret.

Best choice, set up your own volunteer. We call them "stooges". You cannot stop your show to see if the person will agree to not exposing your secrets. People have free will.

Don't you know anyone who you could have to pretend they are a part of the audience you are performing for? This means they do not acknowledge you in any way. They come to the event and leave without talking or being near you.

Everyone else will tell, if not right away, soon after.

Ya throw a balling ball in the audience, and that person or the person next to him throws it to another. When one is left then, you'vr picked a random person....

Or was it a ping pong ball?
