Topic: Hand care/exercise for coin-workers?
Message: Posted by: antmills (Apr 9, 2015 03:04PM)
Does anyone have any tips on looking after your hands specific to coin magic?
In particular around exercises to build up the muscles needed for a good classic Palm - which is something I'm struggling with at the moment :(
Thanks all

Try doing a coin roll with a coin there.

try different sized coins and
different edge coins...such as....

older coins
newer coins
slick edge coins such as old Australian pennies. (about the size of USA half dollars.

Go from finger to classic and
classic to finger palm.

Practice while watching tv if you watch TV

Hand care. keep them looking good.
When I did magic full time, I got MANicures
Still working on not biting my nails. They look lots better when I don't

Playing string instruments help

As I age, I find my hands tire or cramp up when I practice coins or play guitar for longer periods.
So short practice repeated more frequently works for me....

I practice the M/P with both hands...helps me

also multiple coins both for classic and muscle pass, helps when I go back to using just one (coin)

Above is from my experience.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I've been looking at the Finger Fitness DVD but not took the plunge yet. Sounds like it's worth getting and trying out. Thanks for the tip

The more you practice your sleights.
It will strengthen your fingers at the same time.
