Just found out that some close family are moving to Charlottesville area in November, so finally may be able to convince my wifey that a trip to ECSS is worth it in our budget by doing a "twofer" visit, extending our stay by a few days!

It covers your companion.

If you have a full paid ticket, you can add your companion.
Message: Posted by: gothicmagic (Sep 23, 2018 04:34PM)
The full registration is for the Primary attendee (which includes the lectures, shows, the welcome dinner, etc..)
the companion is for the person coming with the primary (shows, dinner, and a few of the lectures) neither include the separate wkshps

A few had asked whether we were this year having the "Ladies" performance night, unfortunately we have so tight a schedule this year we couldn't fit it in and give it the attention it deserved, so we will be probably be bringing it back next year (that way we make sure we have the time slot and performers to do it right) So if you are a Lady, Woman,etc.. and this is important to you make sure you are there next year

In just 5 short weeks we will all be getting together at what I feel is the finest of Bizarre/Seance conventions running (I may be a bit biased though), we have loads in store for everyone (all new we try our very best to not repeat lectures and strive to keep the creative flow going,
if you haven't registered yet hurry to do it (we have new attendee pins this year (which look great) and we will soon be approaching a time we will have to give the hotel a count for the Buffet (so don't be left out of the totals)
see you there

I know all of our wkshp lecturers are too modest to say, but here goes
these performers head in unpaid to share a wealth of knowledge with all their friends (if you bought the info they pass on it would cost you hundreds of dollars)
so please think about attending one of their workshops as it helps them offset their expenses to be there with you

I don't get that info (how many or who registered, as I never wanted to be on the money end) I just do the stirring up of interest here and on Facebook and handle the "Talent" and the shows (the goat, the parlor and the evening)

Hello everyone,

I will be driving into town late on Wednesday or early on Thursday morning like 1am. Anyone have a spare bed where I can crash for one nitght? I will have my own room the rest of the convention. Just trying to save a few dollars.

Thanks,

Doc

ECSS is part magic convention and part family reunion. I have learned so much, made some dear friends and I have special memories of each one. I am honored to be part of V, and if you attend, you too will benefit in ways that cannot be put into words.
Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

Still looking for a bed for Wednesday night only at the resort. I would be happy to throw in $20.00. I am not 100% sure I will make it Myrtle Beach Wednesday night, I might have to pull over along the way while I am driving so I did not reserve a room at the resourt till Thursday.

Thanks,

Doc

I am looking forward to Mr. Parr's workshop becasue I have one effect that needs his persoanl touch.

I want to work on my personal ghost story with Voodini that wll create an intro to my seance show.

It's going ot be a very exciting few days. I hope all have safe travels fo all.

Safe travels, I've only got an 8 hour drive, will most likely morph into 10 hours, heading out early Thursday morning.

Im stranded out here in Hawaii and wont be able to make this meeting as usual. if anyone would help me out and grab a T-shirt for me and send it out I would be eternally grateful - I would happily pay any extra shipping and costs of time etc. - I am a huge fan of Perkins work and sight unseen I know its going to be an amazing shirt.

Have Fun - wish I was there!

Thanks for the kind words gentleman. I'm glad the piece was well received. The inspiration was from David Parr (although he didn't know it at the time). I reviewed the script after attending Rolando's lecture on the why grid and streamlined things a bit. All the presentations were strong and well done. Having attended all of the ECSS I can say they keep getting better and better. This was the first time I had the opportunity to see TC Tahoe and thoroughly enjoyed his lecture and show. The David Parr and Mark Striving workshops were some of the best yet. A great times....and looking forward to next year.

Message: Posted by: Dr. O (Jan 22, 2019 03:37PM)
Thanks Winks! It almost didn't happen. I had planned on ending with a frame that would fall on command but testing it right before packing for Myrtle Beach it broke!! With less than a week to go I came up with the baseball glove and ball. The frame breaking was a truly happy accident as it wouldn't have been as strong an effect.

To Rob: privileged to perform in the competition alongside you and utterly delighted that you're the winner. I can guess the pin for ECSS VI will have you in the design!

Thank you. It was a privilege for me to share the stage with all the performers. Strong performances from everyone! Since I designed all the event pins for ECSS (save the Ouija board one) I like to think they all have a little of me in them.

LOL (really).

I just can't make most of these conventions. It's not money, it's schedule.

I'm the editor of a weekly newspaper in Colorado, and it's so hard for me to get away from the office.

I have to jump through hoops to arrange everything for my occasional trips to Europe and the Middle East.

But I think I contributed something to ECSS this year.

Check out Jim Magus' new book, you find something from me in there.
