Hello everyone,

You have a line of spectators on stage, you are blindfolded and holding a pendulum. You are moving down the line trying to determent the target person. Of course the ones that you are not aiming for, are given short readings and ask to return to their seats as you continue down the line.

Question: What looks better?

1. Asking that the eliminate spectators leave the stage and take their seats as you move down the line. Wouldn’t that cause a confusion and chaos looking mess on stage?
2 Just keep the eliminated spectators on stage and once the target person is found, then ask those not selected to take their seats.

I want to end the routine with just the selected person and me on stage so that the ending remarks have more impact.

Best

I'm thinking #2 so that you can have the audience give one round of applause for all of the eliminated helpers at once. I like to make sure that people that help on stage get a round of applause on the way to their seats, and certainly one after another would indeed be chaos.

I would ask the "eliminees" to step to one side of the stage as you give each one the brief reading. Don't say they are eliminated (that is your internal script), speak to them as a group after the selection.
So you end up with a group on one side and a single person on the other side of the stage (or if it's small, slightly separated).
Then - if possible, do something really quick with the "eliminated" group (like a psych force etc) just before having them return to their seats to applause.
Then move onto finishing up with the selected person.

How are you moving down the line whilst blindfolded? To the people watching I mean...

Or are you standing still and people are approaching you one at a time?

Why are you blindfolded? What if you were to give them each a simple pendulum they could keep (string and plastic crystal) and have the vibration energy coming from them choose? Those unable to move the pendulum or who have it moving in the wrong direction can be asked to go back to their seats. The audience would see the lack of movement or wrong direction and would know immediately, know why they were not used. Just thinking out loud.

I also found these that would also make it very inexpensive to give out to your participants https://www.amazon.com/Buorsa-Mutilcolor-Pendulum-Divination-Pendants/dp/B07G9W4R1G/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1537520994&sr=8-7&keywords=dowsing+pendulum+lot

That would interrupt the routine that I am going for. It would cause too much space time before the ending and I feel that I would lessen the impact.

I use an assistance that will guide me into position and then I will move down the line.

IAIN, If you like you may PM me and I will tell you the routine.

Why do I use a blind fold? …. It will help me to shut off the outer senses, to focus on my inner realm. (Rumi)

Given the spectators each a pendulum would water down this routine and would reduce the heartfelt reaction that I am aiming for.

Ray,
How about as you go down the line, you ask those spectators that you are going to eliminate, to hold one hand up high.
When ready to send them all back to there seats, you ask " all those with their hand held high, please wave goodbye to our audience as they escort you back to your seats with a round of applause".
Just an idea to send them all back at once.
