Topic: Stealth pen or b2 bomber?
Message: Posted by: converter111 (May 9, 2004 02:21PM)
Should I get the stealth pen or b2bomber? What is your opinion? I can get the stealth pen a few dollars less. Is this enough to take it, or is B2bomber better? Thanks!

I like the Executive Pen very much. But in the end, it's the Magi's presentation that sells the effect.

Frankly I don't like b2 bomber. It breaks easily. My advice is to learn an ungimmicked version.

Ungimmicked? are you crazy? You'd have to learn sleight of hand for that ;)

Good suggestion!!!

I find the Stealth Pen more magical because it looks like an ordinary pen anyone would carry around. A nicer looking pen is somehow more likely to be gaffed in any manner. I don't know if this is thoughts an audience ever think about, but I do.

I like the ungaffed idea mentioned above, but in the final analysis, the effect, IMO, looks more magical and amazing using a gaffed pen. The Stealth Pen is my choice as well. The "bigger payload" of the B-2 means nothing in the context of the illusion, and as Arkadia said, the more normal and standard the pen looks, the more solid the illusion is.

My little buddy (girlfriend's son) uses his Stealth Pen all the time, and he kills with it. I use the original "Pen Thru" gaff myself. Just occasionally, but also with good results typically.

Best,

Mike

If your first Pen Thru Dollar effect is the Stealth Pen, I'd recommend getting 2 or 3...After mastering to trick, (Which I consider, involves never missing your target...you'll know what I mean)...After mastering the trick, my gimmick was worn out...Still, nothing a spec would normally pick up on, but still, for aesthetic purposes, you want it to look perfect. It'll give you that extra boost of confidence...Give the trick the practice it deserves.
