Topic: AppeaRing by Bocopo Magic & Silver Wing
Message: Posted by: Titanas (Feb 11, 2019 01:56PM)
Hey guys,
Today's release is about a new exciting item by Bocopo Magic & Silver Wing.
This does have some great potential and the visuals are amazing.
AppeaRing has both manual and remote-control versions. The switch is perfectly hidden -- you can trigger it without anyone noticing. And with the remote control version, you can trigger it within a 10m effective range.
Comes in 3 different colors.

More info:

Red https://www.murphysmagic.com/Product.aspx?id=62897

Best regards,
Titanas

1. Looks like the box contains batteries, motors, etc. How heavy is it? If it's too heavy it should arouse suspicion.

2. If used as a vanishing box - can the spectator handle it herself to make her ring vanish? Will there be a rattling sound if she shakes it after it has vanished?

If using this prop for a ring vanish, is it possible to retrieve the ring secretly to produce it from somewhere else? The few dealers I found selling the item don't mention the remote control version. Can we buy the standard version for now and purchase the remote later?

The appearance of the ring is indeed stunning but how practical is this?

Is it simple to load?
What restrictions are there regarding types and sizes of rings?
How examinable is it?
What’s the reset time?
Is it heavy?

Looking forward to hearing more.....

I hope the product's better than its cheesy trailer... and ya'll need a better spokesperson than a post-puberty pimply snoopy shirt wearing guy who doesn't even believe in the product he's selling.

Does the trailer & product remind anyone of 'Vanishing Ring - Sansminds' or is it just me :rotf:

Seriously, this item looks great.

I'd would like to know more about the loading system, what it does look like to load a ring inside and how smooth it is.

"And with the remote control version, you can trigger it within a 10m effective range." So for $130, you don't get the remote control version??

Can the spectator handle the box when empty?
What kind of load time is there? Can it be done in front of the spectators?
Message: Posted by: simplymagicweb (Feb 17, 2019 11:18PM)
So many questions here and no answers...... Shame. Looking forward to hearing from Titanus perhaps as he started this thread?

Hi Fellows,

I saw many of you looking for answers so let me try to help you out. :)

1: Is it heavy?

The box contains electronics but no batteries which would make it "heavy". There is a small electronic part and that's all.

2. The Load:
Its simple to load but imagine a load like a card to wallet so you take a ring vanish it and you introduce a ringbox... Since you show an empty ringbox I would not hand it out to the spectators since at that point there is no reason BUT technicaly you can show to them. If we talk about a heckler yes you don't want to show it since electronic inside it you don't need a spectator who willing to take it apart.... Hope that make sense. :)

3. Reset Time
Seconds. :)

4. Remote Control or Not

Appearing comes with the following:

1. Ring Box
2. Charger
3. Remote Control

You can perform it 2 ways using a remote control and pressing a button that makesthe mechanics work. Also based on the video the "appear" takes 0.3-0.5 seconds which mens you gently (not like crazy) shake the ringbox and its appeard already it looks very nice to be honest. OR You just do a gentle handshake in front of the box. My opinion is that both magical and I would use both is nice to make it appear without any cover but on the other hand doing a gentle handshake in front of it and a ring appear from nowhere there is something very magical in it so I definetly not consider it as a "weaker option"

Also if You have vanishing ring by sansminds these 2 would go crazy good together without a doubt.

I hope I answered all of your questions and it was helpful.

Appearing is ready for sameday shipping (in the next 3 hours) a: https://www.mystiquefactory.com/search?q=appearing+bococo

Best,
Tom

So this prop will be using only for making the ring appear ?
Message: Posted by: stanz (Feb 19, 2019 12:33AM)
Tom - I'm thinking of using it to make a ring disappear. From the video
it appears it has this function too, but you didn't say anything about
this and referred to Sansmind's vanishing ring box. Can AppeaRing
be used to vanish a ring too? If so I may get 2 boxes - one to make
it vanish, the other to make it appear.

I got mine today and I am very disappointed so far my package did not come with instructions, so I have no idea how to work this. I charged it and can kind of tell how it works but I can't get a ring to go into place. I messaged Hocus Pocus ad Bocopo. Let's see if this prop is good once I see the instructions...
Message: Posted by: jaylosa (Feb 20, 2019 01:04AM)
Oh my lord. This product is a POS. I can't believe Murphy's added this to their warehouse and promoted it. Here are some issues.

1- My package did not include instructions, I had to go out of my way to finally get the link and code to watch the instructional video.
2- The instructions are in Mandarin (?). There's a translator in the room but it's hard to understand her english. For $130 they SHOULD have given us a better teaching video, one in ENGLISH. Also, it looks like it was shot with a cheap phone.
3- The trailer shows a ring vanish that is never discussed on the instructional video. This company spent more time and money making a cool promo video than the instructional video, which is complete ****e!
4- You can only use a thin ring. The instructions say 3mm but I think its more like 2mm max. You need wax to keep the ring in place so you can't hand off the ring for examination without some residue on it.
5- The box is loud. No way getting around that.
6 - The box looks and feels fragile, you have to be really careful with it.

I can look past a few of these imperfections but not all of them. The instructional video SHOULD be more in depth, more professional, and in ENGLISH. T-1000 by Ellusionist is another example of a bad ass ENGLISH trailer and a crappy instructional video in Mandarin. No excuses.

I was pretty mad last night so here's my final review now that I've cooled down.

I give it 3 stars and am sending it back.

Here are my thoughts...

This company spent more time and money making a cool promo video IN ENGLISH and then give us a crappy instructional video that was recorded in 720p with terrible audio quality.

3- The trailer shows a ring vanish that is never discussed on the instructional video. I had to figure that one out on my own and it's not practical.

4- You can only use a thin ladies ring. The instructions say 3mm but I think its more like 2mm max. You also need wax to keep the ring in place so you can't hand off the ring for examination without some residue on it.

5- The appearance is loud. If you want to do this live you'll need to cough or have loud music in the background maybe.

6- The appearance doesn't alway work. Ring gets stuck at times.

7 - The box looks and feels fragile, you have to be really careful with it.

Verdict: Great for social media videos if you mute them or add music, you might have to do several takes depending on the ring you use and if it keeps getting stuck. Not so great for live performances. I cannot justify spending $130 for video magic, others might not mind.

I received mine and spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to find the instructions. Looked over every inch of the box and its contents...I even looked to see if maybe the link was embedded inside the charging compartment. I've written to the dealer and to Bocopo Magic but haven't heard from either. It is definitely the kind of effect you would want to get instructions for because it seems like it could break if loaded or set up improperly. So it's sitting unused on my shelf unfortunately.

I said it once and I'll say the thousand more times if needs be I really wish the people who put out magic would simply just add the DVD for the instructional part of it this would really simplify things for everyone involved.
Good magic to all,
Eric

No thanks. Just because a company failed to provide the download information, let's not take a step back with something that creates more work on everyone's end, is less convenient for most consumers, requires more money, and creates more clutter and waste.

I agree with you Eric. So much more convenient to have a DVD at your disposal when needed. I'm not a fan of downloaded instructions only. They are nice but having that DVD is definitely better. I lost so much when when computer crashed and I couldn't restore it. So ticked!
