Herman Melville’s short story, “Bartleby the Scrivener: A Story of Wall Street,” about a strangely resistant office worker, is a favorite of ours.

You may enjoy my adaptation and performance of the story, as broadcast today on the Arts Express radio program on WBAI 99.5 FM NYC.

My girlfriend at the time (1990s) bought me a copy of Bartleby the Scrivener for my birthday. Was she trying to tell me something? I never got around to reading it.
