Topic: Retiring a dove act
Message: Posted by: 61magic (Dec 22, 2020 03:41AM)
After many many years in magic I'm retiring from active performing and plan to simply be a hobbyist. I have over time sold all of my illusions and most of my stage apparatus.
I'm seeking advice on what to do with the props left over from my dove routines, there doesn't seem to be as much call for dove items as there used to.
Does anyone have any resources for contacts for some of the props and items I have?

Post or PM me,

You're correct. There isn't as much call for dove magic as in the past. Partly because of the covid restrictions on venues and partly because in my 60 years experience, stage magic runs in cycles. It dies down for a bit and then all of a sudden there's a resurgence. You didn't list what props you were trying to sell so the best thing to do initially is post the sale in out let's make a deal forum. Depending on what props you have, you could try The Magic Auction but I wouldn't waste my time on pockets or holders. There's always ebay as a last resort.

Are you selling the doves too or just the apparatus?

Apparatus only, as the birds aged and passed I didn't replace them. No pockets only physical apparatus.
Anyone know if there is a facebook for bird workers or groups?

Actually there is. It's the dove workers exchange
