Topic: Suggestions requested for food/drink-related routines or effects

Folks: I’m planning a dinner and magic event for a small group (6-8 participants). It will be in a private dining room. There will be six “courses,” all of which will feature a food or beverage plus one mentalism or magic effect per course.

Here’s what I have so far but these ideas are only tentative and I would really appreciate any thoughts or suggestions based on any effects or routines related to food or drink that members have done and found to be effective.

1.) DINNER MUSIC. [Preliminary plan: a three-part effect using Digital Force Bag which enables me to predict a selected musician --- a selected song --- and finally a song playing live on the radio supported with an audio file.]

2.) COCKTAILS: [Preliminary plan: version of Alexander Marsh’s “Cocktail” divining secret drink ingredients created by audience participants.]

3.) APPETIZERS: [Preliminary plan: version of Dan Harlan’s mentalism take on “Animal Crackers” where animals are identified by eating crackers blindfolded.]

4.) SALAD: [Preliminary plan: Anverdi Mental Die “Lunch Prediction” routine.]

5.) MAIN COURSE [Preliminary plan: Gary Sumpter’s “What’s Cooking” book test.]

6.) DESSERT [Preliminary plan: BonBon Box by George Iglesias.]

Any recommendations for other effects will be appreciated. Thank you!

Is this something you are hosting or something that has been requested of you to do?

Though originally published in 1976, it has plenty of ideas that may be of use.

Thank you Wravyn! I have ordered the book and appreciate your suggestion. This is something I'm hosting so I have good control over the environment. Again: thanks! Mark
