Topic: Dye Tube Help !!
Message: Posted by: richgerb86 (Nov 19, 2004 08:50AM)
I am having trouble with learning a dye tube routine. The second silk gets stuck & kinda "hangs up" when I go to steal the tube. I am only using 12 inch silks, & a Morrissry Dye Tube. Any help or referance materials will be appreciated.

Use 4"x36" streamers. They take the same space as a 12" square but also look much larger!

For your purposes, you are actually dealing with less silk at the time when inserting or pulling out a streamer.

PS --- A correctly measured (hemmed edge ONLY) diamond cut silk will also work in a dye tube made for 12" square silks. The 18" diamond cut looks like a 24" square silk!

This may sound like a dumb question but are you flipping the tube over and not trying to pull the second silk past the tape? I knew of a guy who didn't know about that. You might get more info in the secret sessions area.

Billy McComb solved this by making his own larger gimmick from the type of butane gas cannister used to refill lighters.
