| Topic: Request for Suggestions for Silk Effects |

I would like to put together several (4-6) entertaining silk effects especially geared towards a young children's crowd (Kindergarten-6th grade)although they can be entertaining for adults (parents) as well. I would appreciate it if you can kindly tell me which (4-6) silk effects you would recommend, and if possible, from which manufacturer would you recommend obtaining these effects. I think that some good silk effects, besides productions and vanishes, are: Fountain of silks Mismade flag (or Santa's Suit for a Christmas show) Blendos Color changes That's all I can think of right now. Personally, I've had great experiences with Steven's, but you might want to take a look at the Sweet or Sour forum if you want to use any other dealer. |

I would agree with Chris's selections. Fountain of silks is a crowd pleaser as it a phantom which also lets you get into the steal for the fountain. As for routines that give you more time, color changing hank, blendos, 20th Century silks all work great. I make an Alladin's 20th century silk set that lends itself to an easy storyline. Several effects come to mind: TT vanish of silk, Mismade Flag, Hank Moorehouse "Spotty" (not always available, similar concept of Mismade Flag) Silk Fountain, 5 Minutes with a Pocket Hankerchief (Not silk, but the lay audience doesn't know what silks are) <!! Get Tom Owen Watch Winder for this routine !!>. Most dealers carry all or if not some of these effects. Whom to buy from depends a lot on your budget and the quaility of the silks you want to have. Most dealers carry low to mid grade silk products. High End dealers include P&A, Rice Silk Studio, and Hughes Magic Inc. as shown above would be a few examples. |

I will go for: changing color hank, Blendo Multilated parasol - use the silks with change bag silk to can blank + colored silk (Santa, clown, etc.) |
