I was viewing some posts and noticed/remembered that Brian Proctor is a Grammar Host. I noted that he had around 500 posts, while Peter Marucci, with over 2000 posts, was not a Grammar Host, or a moderator....simply an "Inner Circle". So here is my question. What does it take to become staff? I found it strange that Peter wasn't even a moderator.

The answers to your questions about the ranks in the Cafe can be found here
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/faq.php#mods http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/faq.php#ranks We have many valued members at the Cafe that are not Moderators or Grammar Hosts, yet are vital contributors to the forums. Mr Marucci is a valued member and has contributed a wealth of information to the forums. Moderators are not necessarily those with the most posts. They are individuals that have made a specific commitment to the Cafe and assist Steve and the Senior Staff in the day to day operations of the forums.

The criteria to be a staff member is varied, and ultimately depends on my personal views and opinions, based on a lot of variables.
You cannot solicit for the position, you must be asked. I hope this helps.
