Hey... I'm almost positive this is the wrong forum to be posting this message in, so I apologize. I'm not active enough here to know better and none of the other boards seemed to fit.
Anyway, I've got two hundred dollars in for the best effect I can get. I'm not interested in a DVD set, or a book set, or several tricks (I'm hitting these because they are the advice I'd probably give another magician asking for this advice, lol), but a single knock-em-out trick, and I've narrowed it down to PSI Sharpie and Elevator 2. It may seem like comparing these tricks is working with apples and oranges, but I don't think so. They both aim to display real magic, they are both anytime-anywhere routines, they are both super-eerie. So my question for the many experienced magicians on these boards is simply this: which effect do you think would have a stronger impact on a spectator. I'm on the fence, leaning toward Elevator 2, but an outside (not to mention professional) opinion is invaluable. Again, sorry for the forum, but I'd really appreciate a response on this one. Thanks!

Hum!!!
PSI-Sharpie and Elevator-2. Two distinct fields - Mentalism and Magic. Since you, yourself have narrowed down the field of search, you would be the best judge to decide on the item that best suits your primary field of interest. Happy Thinking!

But my question was about the impact the two effects would have on spectators and which one you think would be stronger. For example, I can tell you that the Invisible Deck plays stronger than a coin vanish, even though they are on opposite ends of magic.

Okay, I'll suggest the Elevator-2. Don't ask me why!!!

Hay how is everyone out there? I have my psi-sharpie on the pre-ordered list and I cant wait to get it. I now know the inside workings of the psi-sharpie and let me say WOW!! ITS going to be great. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas or routens they would like to do with the psi-sharpieand if so could we start a discussion on it. HOCUS-POCUS is telling me it will be here at the end of Feb. I think something like this is going to open our minds to different routines....thanks a lot justin

The effect on the audience is 99% presentation. YOU are the effect on the audience.
You have to give it away to keep it.

If I were you, I would add another $55 and get Dean's Box. Still saving for that!

I do have deans box, and it is amazing, Dean Dill is a awsome guy, I know this is off topic but I like to tell people about inventors/magicians that I have run acrossed. Dean Dill is a carring guy who really wantes to see the betterment of magicians young and old, I use his box all the time and its priceless. It envokes wonder in everyone I show it to, as for as the psi-sharpie, I have some great ideas for it. I own the QB (JOHN T. SHEETS) and my mind is racing with the possabilites. I hope more people will come up with presintation ideas of using psi-sharpie and the great Deans box. David Fletcher wrote that the effect on the audience is 99 percent presintation..You are the effect on the audience. That is true. Im young, only been performing a few years but have been doing mentalism for many years as a hoobbie. Im starting to realalize that, the audience come to see you to be entertained, Larry Becker and Richard Osterlind and other Great mentalist, usualy use small propes. The mentalist is the entertainer not the props....thanks
