Help! I'm missing pages 26&27. The dealer who sold the book gave me a generous credit when I explained the error but he was unable to replace the leaf. I will more than happily ply someone with beer at Blackpool if they could produce a copy of the missing sheet for me. A faxed copy would equally be more than welcome. The last paragraph I get is "Request your subject to again look directly into your eyes and under no circumstances to remove his gaze from yours". What the hell do I do next???? It sounds more like something out of Little Britain.

Strange, those exact pages are also missing from my copy. Is yours spiral bound?

There's an illustration on 26 (figure #8) and a brief description of a grip test.

I have a spiral bound copy of the book. It looks like a photocopy of the original book.
Thanks for the offer babakli. That's very kind of you. |

The Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnotism (which I believe is not available through mainstream dealers) is a very different book than Ormond's later The New Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnotism (which is available at Barnes and Nobles).

Mmmmmm, I suspect that there is an (a?) hypnotic suggestion to the reader
(in this case, Maaaagic! & Kennedy) on page 25 that induces you guys to believe that pages 26 & 27 don't actually exist! BTW, My copy is the "new" encyclopedia so I'm now suspicious that certain pages may be missing................................ Cheers and best regards, Stephen |

Hello, I'm a Beginner, and I am wanting to learn how to perform hypnosis, especially Stage Hypnosis. Are these books good to get for someone wanting to begin learning hypnosis, and if it is how can I obtain a copy?

Hi,
Can anyone please clarify the differences between "The Encylopedia of Stage Hypnotism" and "The New Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnotism." I was about to buy and have been thinking that probably, since it's longer, "The New Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnotism" was the same but with additions. Thanks very much. Bill Brunelle |

The New Encylopedia is much more complete.
It also has things in it that if followed without caution will lead you to a lot of trouble. As a matter of fact I believe the first one does as well. Many of the physical induction techniques can spell trouble for an unsuspecting operator and should be avoided. too tell the truth any induction that requires the physical "jarring" of a subject is a problem looking for a place to happen. Back on topic, the spiral bound book is far older. The "New" book has far more routines, and things from shows like Pat Collins and others. It is a much more complete book.
