This is why I was thrilled to find, and didn't hesitate to purchase, the set when I saw them at a convention. I was having a discussion with John Greget, as I often do when I see him at conventions. He told me that Louis Falanga is going to stop producing books, and start focusing more and more on DVDs, since that's the way the market is headed.

These books are great even if you are not intending to be a professional. If you are just a fan of magic... GET THEM!!! They are so full of wisdom and clear thinking from someone who really understands magic. Beautifully and clearly written.

Although many of the effects are ones that I would not use myself, they show great thinking and the ideas and the essays on presentation give you plenty of food for thought.
Excellent books. |

I've notice two different dust covers on the Books of Wonder. One appears to be drawn, the other appears to be a color glossy picture.
Are the contents the same? The first seems to be more expensive. Thanks; John

My mistake. The one with a photo on the cover was Visions of Wonder

These are worth adding to your library, even if you do not add any of the routines to your sets. A lot of interesting theory and other useful info. I have an autographed set and it is one of my most prized magic books.

The books are a fabulous read. I strongly recommend them. I agree completely with the comments that the effects are beyond the reach of most magicians.

I just finished these last week. These might be the greatest books on magic that I have ever read. I agree with everyone else, don't buy these for the effects (which are marvelous). Tommy loved magic in a way that is so rare. Just getting the insight of his thinking, construction, and philosophy made these books such valuable tools. I intend to read them again in a few weeks...

I just purchased the set of both volumes last week and I must say just going through the ToC and reading around some of the essay content I can tell these are going to be amazing books. I bought these for the philosophical material and also in hopes that some of the effects would fit me style. I am very excited about beginning a serious study of these. Thanks for the posts and convincing me give these a chance.
