Later this year we will be producing a full evening show of magic and illusions complete with dancers, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding publicity stunts to promote the show?

Large scale escapes always go over well.

Visit the "All Tied Up" menu item and check out the WEAR event if you want to get in on a high profile event with others. -Ed
"What's your drug?" she asked. "Hope" he said, "The most addicting one of all."

Thanks for the input. I like the escape-type of publicity, and will give that some planning. I'm not certain that anything else I would do would interest the press, but I am still thinking. Thanks again for both of your comments.

Do the same as Houdini did in the sence that where he did it.
He would always ( r most of the time) do the publicity stunt out side the newspaper to make sure they would see it. just my 2 cents good luck |

Rick Allen has put out a course on publicity. I don't own it, BUT...
he is doing a teleconference in just a few weeks on some strategies that MAY be useful to you. To find out more info, go to http://www.thedean.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=2041 Kind regards Mike p.s. I am NOT in any way linked to Rick. I am NOT being paid to mention this call. I just think this "might" be useful to you. I've signed up to it, and paid for the privilege (so you'll soon hear from me if it IS a waste of time!!) |

If you can get a spot on a morning radio show you can do some mentalism. Many resources on such material if you dig. Good stuff too! Simple yet effective. I have heard many success stories with stuff like that.
We have done several local morning TV shows. A little harder to get on but if you have a catch or a charity it helps. We had a big corporation. We didn't have to do anything but show up at 5 in the morning. I normally go to bed around 3 am, life of an entertainer. Do a 10:30 show, by the time everything is put away and you get home it's past midnight and your all pumped with adrenaline. Just try to go to bed in that condition. (Home is where you rest your head. It could be a hotel a cabin or sometimes, on occasion, your own bed.) Staring at the ceiling. It's like waiting for a drug to wear off so you can just get some sleep. Cause the older I get the earlier I wake up whether I like it or not. that's why now I take naps. A Siesta if you will. That way I don't sound old. Old people take naps. Me, I'm enjoying a mexican tradition. Anyway, if waking up early and doing a live gig is your thing those are high profile publicity. Will

Yes it is always important to "have a reason" Other than promoting your self for bookings
Charity is good and easy Public shows coming up working along side a celebrity local community TV is also a great place to start it's easy peasy to get onto |
