Hi,
Looking for any reviews possible on these items. All available at hanklee.com Thanks. Diminishing News- $35 The Diminishing Newspaper is a great new comedy routine from Argentina's Rey Ben. Open a full size newspaper sheet, read it, close it and throw it away with your right hand. However, when you look at your left hand, the newspaper is still there, but it’s shrunk to half size! Surprised, you read it anyway, close it and throw it away again. But again, in your left hand is an even smaller newspaper. Repeat the action one more time and again in your left hand is an even smaller newspaper (2x2.5 inches). Try to read it, but it is too small. So, you shake the tiny newspaper and it visually restores to full size, as it was at the beginning! Great comedy potential; totally visual magic! Tag $15 Tag from JB Magic is one you will perform always! Have a card freely selected, signed and returned into the deck. You remove a random card from the same deck. A genuine hole is punched through the random card. Next a tag is passed through the hole and tied so the card is fastened to the tag. No fake tags, etc. The spectator takes hold of the tag as the card is returned to the deck. The spectator never lets go of the tag. The deck is spread and the spectator pulls the tag from the deck. The card fastened to the tag is now their signed card! This can be given away as a souvenir;' the tag is permanently fastened to their card. Complete with gimmick and tags. Applause Card - $19.95 Feel bad that you didn’t get all the applause and cheers you felt you deserved after performing your favorite card routine? Well, Dr. Schwartz' Applause Card is the answer! Just spread your deck of cards and listen for the applause and cheers! The electronic applause gimmick is mounted onto a single card, and remains hidden on the bottom of the deck! Just the push of a button is all it takes to get the applause rolling! And, it is loud enough to be heard even in a noisy room. You will use this one al the time. Batteries are easily replaced. Disregard the "Applause Card", I thought it said that it SPELLS out the word applause; instead it is a sound chip with the sound of applause. Not what I thought...

We are putting an illusion show together for later this year, and I purchased some reference material for the low-budget illusions we will be using. One of the references I purchased is Mayne's "Secret Illusion Show". I enjoyed reading the book, but all my illusions will be extracted from Mark Wilson's videos (Volume 1 & 2). For what we need, these illusions will work best for us (tip over trunk, and arabian tent for example). I consider Mayne's book to be a good reference for more low budget ideas for future shows. For me, his book was worth the money as an addition to my reference library. There were a couple of ideas in his book which were new to me.

Thanks Illusion, I think I will check that book out.
Anyone tried "TAG" yet? The description sounds vague; I mean, when you remove a RANDOM card, do you show the face of the Random card? It doesn't say, so I'm not clear yet. Thanks |

Diminishing News is a great bit for a quick comedy throwaway or as an MC bit.
The paper changes size 4 times and the inside of the paper is blank, allowing you to write your own comedy material inside (so you don't forget it). The only draw back is that you have to use the paper supplied or spend time and money at the copy center to create your own prototype using your local paper. Its worth the price paid. S. Patrick |
