Anyone know how much difference there is between the two of these? I am considering buying one of the other- haven't used IT in a long time, used to own a large ITR, but do not know how the current ones are for closeup.

The only real difference besides size is the the smaller one has less IT on it. They are both really small and easy to conceal. The supermicro is about half the size of your pinky!!
