For me, Vernon's routine is my default, short and to the point. I also like Johnny Thompson's up the ladder additions in his 4 volume tape set.
Although its not exactly triumph, for stage show's I really love "Shake, Shuffle & Twist" by Steve Bedwell. Its the closest thing that I have found to an "on stage" triumph, and plays extremely well- if you make it fit your style. MM

Frank Garcia's handling (using the Kaufman turnover and Daryl display) is a favorite.

Is the following a version of triumph?
the spectator picks any card.....they replace it in the deck....then I get the card to the bottom of the deck ( any method will do ),,,,then I explain that one time a cranky guy then grabbed my deck and started shuffling as I do a slop shuffle and getting the bottom card back on top,,,then I explain that all the cards are now mixed up as I show some are back to face, some are face to back and some are back to back......then I show all the cards are now going in the same direction EXCEPT for the chosen card...... I left out all the exact moves here,,,,,i just wanna know is this considered a version of triumph?....i do the original version also but when I don't have the use of a table I do it this way.......... |

Yes.
It is called . . . [fanfare, flourish of trumpets, then hautboys] . . . Slop Shuffle Triumph. No, I didn't come up with the name myself. |

I think many of us must collect triumph effects. I love performing the Vernon Triumph and Daryl's routine in Puerto Rican Gambler. But, for utter simplicity and bang for the buck, check out Nick trost's, Triumph Ace opener on page 72 of the Card Magic of Nick Trost. Jess

I think that Ron Bauer's Version is the best I have seen. I just got it from his website, and I think its the most simple and convincing then any I have seen, including Guy Hollingsworth's version.

I still think the original just isn't convincing enough for my tastes. I use hooser's staning triumph routine and it rocks. I also like some of jennings' and dingle's triumphs.

"The Man from New York" by Terry LaGerould from Pasteboard Presentations. Triumph with a four ace production. Contains the perfect mixture of magic and conviction.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Barenaked triumph by Tom Crosbie is great for stack workers since it leaves the stack in order.
