I plan on buying the phoenix soon, but I would like to know if the Inferno video will teach me how to use the phoenix properly.

To the best of my knowledge they are two different items.
Though the Inferno Video may give you some ideas, I doubt it will teach you to use it properly. I do not own either mind you but this is the impression I've gotten from others.
A direct from text adaptation : The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde Starring Mickey Rooney in his final role.

That depends on your definition of "use it properly"
I think that Practice, is the only way to learn how to "use it properly." But since the Inferno was a too-close copy of the Inviso-Torch/Phoenix, (and rightfully no longer produced) the Inferno Video is directly applicable to the use of the Phoenix. Having said that (I have the Inferno Video acquired with some other items) and will tell you that it is more entertainment and an idea piece than a real tutorial. It does cover some do's and don't's and how to use, but it is done so in mime, and a very cartoonish way. Somewhat entertaining, and better than nothing. But I think you get just about as much from Jim's Instructions with the Phoenix. BroDavid

Inferno was not a Jim Pace Product. It was an unauthorized copy (more or less... and is no longer being distributed - so you guess whether it was more or less) and in my opinion inferior in quality and certainly wrong.
Inviso-Torch was/is the predecessor to Phoenix. I won't try to explain the specifics, (Jim Pace can do that better) but I think the Phoneix is slightly more refined than Inviso-Torch. But I have an original Inviso-Torch and two Phoenix's and find them all pretty much interchangeable in actual use. I like to take two with me on the Street and I usually just grab the two that are already closer to full, and off I go... BroDavid

Does the phoenix have an electronic ignition device or a flintstone? I have unfortunatly an inferno (I know, it's bad... but I didn't know when I bought this item many months ago) and I have a real problem of ignition with the flintstone (I have success only 1 time out of 4 or 5).
Jim Pace may help me on this problem? Does the phoenix ignite surely? Thank you,
Il était une fois...

No, the ignition is not electronic. It is Flint. But I have 3 of them and they all light reliably.
Most people who have a problem with the ignition, either have a faulty device (relatively rare) or faulty technique (much more common). Prepping the unit (testing it) just prior to using it in public is recommended. And you can't just fire it. You need to put it in the proper position to fire, and give it a second or two. Then trip it! PM Me, if I am not clear. But the biggest mistake that I have seen with the Phoenix (etc..) is to try to hurry it. But you don't need to hurry it, since nobody knows what is coming. But I also have a tendency when practicing, to hurry sometimes. And the result is usually the same. It doesn't light, until I slow down and do it right! BroDavid
