Hello all,
I was reading the posts about my pad and wanted to answer a few questions. First off to Walsall and Nick. The pad was not made to replace or out do Kevins Bowlarama. It's just for a person that wants to add a parrot production to thier show. Owning a parrot you are always looking for new and cool ways to make him appear. This is just one of them. Nothing more nothing less. For Lou, yes your parrot should already be trained by this stage in the game. On the other hand this is the perfect prop to train him in. First off it is not very constraining, and it works with his natural instincts. Also the load time is very short so he won't get aggitated. You are right it is not made for a Macaw. The reason is that the Macaw has too long of a tail and it does not bend. My Cockatoo is about 16 inches from head to tail but looks enormous on stage. He is also the perfect size for air travel. If you own a Macaw you know that you have to put him in the cargo part of the plane. My Cockatoo goes in a carrier hidden in a duffle bag. I actually sneak him on and place the carrier in the overhead compartment. He never makes a peep. Try that with a Macaw. Don't get me wrong they a beautiful birds but if you travel a lot they will give you difficulties. To Ken thank you for the many kind words on my product. Your right it is an investment that pays off in the long run. You are not just buying my physical materials but also my time and knowledge. I have bought books that cost $300.00 before. If I got one slieght, idea, movement, or routine from it I found it to be money well spent. I will have that with me for the rest of my career. My career is worth the upgrade, is yours? Bests, Puck |

Puck and I have spoken about this product and I want to help him clear the air about this once and for all. It works on an entirely different method than Kevin James Bowl-A-Rama and Puck even had the courtesy to ask Kevin permission and pay him royalty fees. He really didn't have to do that, but he is a stand-up guy and did it out of respect.
If you watch the video then you will see that it is an awesome effect. Like most good magic it is an investment. If you can't justify spending the money on it then you probably aren't ready to be performing this effect. A lot of time and effort goes into each one of the pads. I think that this effect is awesome and I give it two thumbs up. Cheers, Matthew David Stanley |

I took a look on hocus-pocus. The video looks like it's a good trick. Very practical. Sorry for the misunderstanding in the earlier post Puck. Congrats on a great idea!

Hello,
I was sitting in the audience at the Magic Castle the night the demo video was filmed. The reaction was overwhelming when the bird was produced. To an audience of layman (who I am sure most of us perform for ) this is a miracle! Puck is a very talented guy who is offering one of his signature effects to the magic faternity. There is a ton of work that goes into each pad. Puck makes each pad himself by hand, and it's worth every penny you'll invest. I am honored and proud that he chose Hocus Pocus to be his exclusive dealer for this fine product. Best Regards Paul Gross Owner Hocus Pocus |

This may sound like a silly question, but could a duck be substituted for a parrot.
It sounds like a great effect. |

First off there is no such thing as a silly question. I have come up with a way for a magician to do the effect with a rabbit, duck, chicken, or similarly sized and tempered animal. The effect is the same except for the production. Being that a duck does not have the ability to climb out on his own this changes things a bit. After the picture is drawn and the pad is closed here is what happens next.
A very thin table is seen (instand is perferred) next to the performer. The pad is now placed into production position and sat right on top of the thin table. The pad is bowed outward and than lifted up. The audience now can see that the animal has appeared on top of the table as though the contents of the picture came to life right out of the pad. You could omit the table but I think that it would look cruel if the animal were just dropped to the floor from the pad. The effect in the audiences mind is the same as the original effect since there is no possible way the animal could have come out of the table. This pad is a little less labor intensive and will be priced a little lower than the parrot from sketch pad. I will be working out the pricing with Hocus Pocus. Thanks, Puck |

I was curious to see if anyone on here has purchased this, and had a moment to reflect on it. I'm seriously thinking about getting it, and wanted to hear some input on how the audience has responded, how practical it is, etc. etc...
