Hello There, Nexus from Collector's Workshop is absolutely fantastic! I only use this when I really want to impress an audience. The mechanism is sure-fire and it is a quality prop throughout. The effect on any audience is very shocking.
I suggest finding one on a used list or Ebay!!! |

I have to disagree. Nexus is one of the worst items from Collector's Workshop, at least the original version. Maybe George Robinson improved it? I don't know.
The cons: The mechanical appearance of the coins is inconsistent. I complained to them when they produced their demo video of this because it was done so beautifully. The coins vanished and instantly appeared (audibly) in the covered box. That is NOT the case. They actually "cheated" on the video. You have to time your vanish with the appearance. Unfortunately, the appearances are not consistent, so you could look like a 50's English dubbed movie...your hand opens....ten seconds later the coin is heard to appear...or even worse, you squeeze your fingers and they hear the coin appear even though it hasn't vanished yet. As an aside, actually in the video there was NO deck of cards present on the table! So, they REALLY cheated, both audibly and visibly because, obviously, the deck MUST be on the table in close proximity to the covered casket. Next, the casket moves when the coins appear. Without giving too much away, they are "shot" into box and when they hit it it sometimes moves. At the very least the covering cloth always moves. Next, the cloth sometimes goes in the casket, too, and you fumble when you uncover it. And, finally, at least on the two that I've had, sometimes the little casket choses before it should. The impact of the coins entering sometimes causes the secret panel to release and swing closed. Guess what? The next coin will appear visibly as it bounces off the casket. It's mechanically very cool but it seems like the research & development stopped way short of the finished product. |

I absolutely agree with runawayjag. I purchased it from Rich Block from the original CW and I immediately returned it after I received it for a full refund. As Runawayjag correctly and honestly stated, there was a great deal of visual and audio editing of the demo tape. Interesting mechanical theory but bad implementation.
