Hi
I was wondering if you guys know of any really good DVDs that's in some way related to magic, but not teaching magic. Something like performances, shows, history of magic, cheats, gambling, hecklers, biographies, movies or anything related to magic. I have got stuff like David Copperfield, David Blaine, Lance Burton shows, History of Magic DVDs, movies From Penn & Teller, Shade, just to name some of them. Do you guys have some DVDs that you really like a lot, watch so many times and recommend it to a friend whenever you see them? |

The only 2 that I know of is
Prime Time Marlo by Ed Marlo and Steel and Silve Live by Paul Gertner. The others are mainly VHS like steve forte's gambling protection series, darwin ortiz's on card cheating cheerios

My favorite so far is Penn & Teller Bullsh!t. Not really a movie, more of a show they have on showtime.

Hi,
Yes Joey, I watched both season of Penn & Teller BS. I'd say they are really very good And Cheerios, thos DVDs you have mentioned by Marlo and Gertner, what are they like? Are they like people showing off card techniques in like a room setting? I would check them out for sure. I was looking for something more like entertaining DVDs, not only magicians doing some tricks behind a table or some sort. Thanks |

The 2 DVDs are performance dvds only
For marlo, it is him showing card trchniques, etc..no explanations For gertner, its a total performance with cards, cups and balls, etc. And there is an interview with him discussing his effects, the whys and what to look out for etc. But no explanations are given. Mainly tips on performance, etc cheerios

I have heard that Richard Turners "The Cheat" is not instructional, though it does expose some moves. It also has a Magic Castle performance I believe.

Stevens has the video on Daniel Cros from Las Vegas. It's all performance of his bar work, but no teaching.
Hope this helps! Lee Darrow, C.H.
