I think you're talking about "Paperclipped" by Jay.

Well, the discription you gave above seemed like it would be Paperclipped. I'm not real sure on the effect of 3 fry though. Maybe you could look up "Paperclipped" by Jay Sankey at http://www.penguinmagic.com. That is where I got my copy.

As Justin mentioned, "3 Fry" is by Peter Eggink, and "Paper-clipped" is by Jay Sankey. They are similar in effect, but very different in method. In Jay's, there is only one card and it ends up folded on the paperclip. In Peter's, there are three cards, and they are not folded. Peter's also makes use of some gaffs. Hope that helps.

To my knowledge "Paper-clipped" (Sankey's) was released before "3 Fry." I would urge you to get both, if you have the means, as they are both very good. I particularly enjoy Peter Eggink's magic.

I bought 3 Fry and it is very good. I'm not familiar with the Jay Sankey effect, sorry. Peter's effect makes use of three cards as mentioned before. Also, Peter's effect has written instructions in a pamphlet, which include the necessary gimmicks...it is not a DVD. Yet, Peter's written instructions are so good, you can visualize the entire routine no problem. There are photos included in the pamphlet to assist your learning the 3 Fry effect. Hope that helps. Oh, and I think Peter Eggink is a member here at the Café, why not contact him for further info?

I am also a fan of Peter Eggink and I hope he releases more material in the future, however I don't consider 3-Fry to be a great effect. It is a little sloppy in the handling and there are many better ways to do the same sort of thing, but even more incredible. As mentioned, Jay Sankey's Paperclipped is one of these, or if you've seen his newest DVD Front Row Sankey, there is an effect called the Full Lotus that is basically a juiced up version of Paperclipped. If you're planning on looking into Peter Eggink, get his DVD Invisible Reality. He does use a lot of gaffed cards and the DVD is all signed card effects, but the actual effect "Invisible Reality" is worth the cost of the DVD alone. This effect was one of the biggest reputation makers for me.
