About two minutes of footage of the walk, that was it. First hour...

Doh! I knew it was on over Christmas. Drat - I missed it - hopefully Discovery will repeat it ad-infinitum.

I read somewhere that the secret to walking on water was knowing where the stones were just underneath the surface! Could this be adapted to having foot sized plates of steel welded to the top of poles set so the plates are just below the water [how would you stop people seeing the set-up when they looked at the water?]. I've also read that some business was going to build in Israel on "the" lake, a just-below-the-surface walkway for tourists to have a go at walking on water. Of course, the easiest [and most scoffed] approach would be to just have a 1/4 inch depth of water as a puddle, and walk across the puddle. Heh, heh.
The presentation makes the magic.

This post is pretty much done but I'd like to add that Jesus' story about walking on water was allegorical. Jesus did not walk on water, the story of this symbolizes a man that is above chaos and water symbolizes chaos.

We should try to keep too much religious discussion out of this, Scattered Dream; there are some who believe it was allegorical, and others who believe it was literal, and this board isn't the place for arguing which is 'correct' (though both interpretations may be correct.)
However, the real trick would not just be walking on water, but (like Jesus did) getting a spectator to step out of the boat and walk across water too.

Short answer to this off-topic topic: He could have done it in order to be allegorical. Just as someone in a movie can do something, which is symbolic of the overall plot of it. It's a bad example, but I'm trying to prevent religious debates.

NFox, exactly. The actual events can carry the even deeper symbolism.
So, who has any ideas how to have an audience member walk on water? Something similiar to an audience-member levitation, maybe? Hmmm, I have an idea that might work; I'll need to test it first, though. Anyone want to run the risk of getting soaking wet?

Apologies for my above post, it was based on my opinion but sounded like a direct statement. I personally have no religion but I do respect other religions and try to learn about all of them. The walking on water is something I came across in a book called "Miracles" and also I read a book on Buddhism that had a story of a man named Savatthi Sariputta who also walked on water.
