Hey guys, just thought I would share this set of Cups & Balls that I recently made for less than $15 CANADIAN (and our money is worth nothing!)

I went to the dollar store, and bought 3 chrome cups that have the tops on them for toothbrushes. I pulled the tops off, and they gave me 3 very good cups. These cups were $2 each.

Then I found some solid colored sponge like balls for dogs. For $1 I got 2 balls. I bout 7 balls 4 little blue ones, and 3 big yellow ones (instead of lemons).

I am very happy with this set, and it looks professional (IMO) anyways.

Bill, if you want a pic fore the museum, PM me.

Anyways, my reason for this post is to let people know that good sets can be made for very cheap.

Thanks for the offer on the pics, but I don't put photos of anything I don't actually have in the museum. I did the same thing with some cups I found from India at one of our local discount houses. They had some that were toothbrush holders and others that were simple drinking cups. These had been recalled because they had minute quantities of lead in them, so they now have labels that say "unfit for drinking water."

These cups will work fine for basic routines. When you get into some of the more esoteric moves, such as the centrifugal move and the elevator move, they may be hard to work with.

I haven't made any cups for cups and balls, but you should see the cups that I've chopped! I haunted Ebay for silver cups and I have flagons, flutes, and chalises! Such beauties - but you have to polish them every time you use them.

Thanks for the tip IceMan.

Some time back, and having a particular idea in mind, I went out and bought some smallish, wooden flower pots.

I forget what the idea was now. DuH!

I do have a magic chop/cup set too.

There is a guy who sells wooden cups and balls sets on eBay. They are made from a small wooden flowerpot, spray painted gold. You could do this yourself.
