There should be heavy emphasis on and "rough" "hope" in that sentence. Some illusions never get past the cardboard stage. If they are not in a presentable form by the time I want to get the book out, I will turn to 3d modeling to give the reader an idea of what the finished product will look like.

I currently run Rhino 3d. It is great for rapidly getting my ideas into a 3d format, but lacks the ability to do animation (without iffy plugins) among many other deficiencies. I just love being able to immediately take an idea I have and turn it into 3-dimensional reality without so much as leaving my computer (maybe that isn't a good thing seeing as though I seem to forget what the outside world looks like).

Hey Ryan, Why are you so shocked at the 3D Modeling? Just wondering?

Did I sound shocked? News to me Beaudini. Plainman: I was merely asking what software he uses because of my interest in the technology from one designer to another. Nick: Looks cool. Will PM you about details. Cheers,

I've been working with Ryan for more than a year now, and I can say his 3-D renderings are the best. He designed "Quicksilver" for Dream Illusions, and has other effects in the works. I've seen several examples of his work and I don't think he thinks about the "competition". He's simply a designer, and a businessman, and he's always interested in anything that's associated with his craft.

Beaudini, Plainman, I'm sure that if you reread Ryan's post you will see that it is inquisitive more than anything else. 3d modeling is something he knows [A LOT] about, and thus his interest was piqued by my mention of it. I guess you could compare it to hearing someone talk about magic in a non-magic environment. Inevitably you will be interested by hearing someone talk about a source of common knowledge.
Ryan, you didn't sound so shocked to me, that is why I did not hesitate in answering your question. I understood that is was coming from someone with extensive knowledge on the subject of 3d modeling. Also, thanks for the kind words, I will be awaiting your PM. Thanks to everyone for their continued support, and let's try to prevent any future misunderstandings, okay? Nick Fox |
