Chaldean, I'm glad to hear "One Man Band" will be on it. I caught the end of it on cable last year and haven't seen it come up again. Gary Graver spent a lot of time with Orson and has a lot of stories to share, but I also would have liked a Bogdanovich commentary - his Citizen Kane DVD commentary is excellent. Too be fair, though, he's already given us so much insight into Welles. I can easily forgive him sitting this one out.

Jimmy Stewart (It's a wonderful life) wrote up a trick in the Jinx. I believe it's the June 1939 issue called "Whisko and Ghosto". I found it on the Interactive Jinx CD.

There was a Tory minister who appeared on UK television's Best Of Magic in the early nineties. He talked to Geoffrey Durham of his love of magic, and proceeded to perform a couple of not particularly memorable effects. Can anyone remember the guy's name?

The Tory MP was John MacGregor, now Lord MacGregor, formerly Transport Minister, member of the Magic Circle. Yes even fascists do the magic!
I know, of course, being from Austria - Jorg Haider is well known for being with the simple close-up effects, sponge balls, colour-changing knives and so on. What other politicians are there who do magic - it would seem they would be very good at perhaps since they are also the professional deceit liars and are really excellent in misdirection, deceit lying and have the "b*lls" to do it all in front of many thousands even millions of people. Just wearing a suit. |
