Okay, to get straight to the point. I'm trying to decide on which dvd set to buy, Bill Malone's "On the Loose" or the new Gregoty Wilson set "In Action." I'm also considering Paul Harris' Art of Astonishment set. So what do you guys think would be the best investment? Thanks in advance.

I'd go for on the loose- Really good stuff.
It is mostly cards tho so keep that in mind. Gregoty Wilson or as he is sometimes known -Gregory is also a really up beat and excitng performer. His DVD on the ring & String "Ring Leader" is really fantastic- you even get the prop. Please note that some of Bill Malones performances requir you to be seated or they require table space which may not be possible at some restaurants- so do check out the DVD contents before you buy. I would buy On the Loose number 1 and number 3 and then buy 1 of the gregory wilson DVD's I have forgotten which one the on the loose dvd but the one with invisible deck and mental photography are really good. the first one has a fun 3 card monte routine (skinner cards) and the ambitious routine with cards to pocket ending is literally in my act. ( I have added another bit to the ending as well for a super duper ending) Good luck David |

Skinner's is a nice idea but I perfer nongimicked 3 card monte. Maybe I should play around with it and see if I can make it work for me.

Also you should consider Paul Green's "In The Trenches" DVD. The link goes to a review in Online Visions. It's available from your favorite magic shop; for example, Denny & Lee.
I actually use some of the material on this DVD and it kills. Hope this helps, Eric PS I hope you already have the two "Magic Menu" books. Several careers' worth of great material in those. |

Dan Fleshman has a set of DVD's on restaurant magic. Nat that you want to copy his act, but he does a good job of demonstrating effects and offers good info for table hopping.
Yes, I am a magician. No I did not make my hare (hair) disappear... it just took early retirement.
