I just wanted to let those who asked me about this trick know that I now have it as a download on my site. I couldn't remember who all asked me but it's been mentioned on a few posts in here.
I did this at a lecture and they reacted pretty strongly to it. Especially when I showed them the unusual method. It's just an unusual way to make a dollar bill vanish but the advantage is that it's gone before the spectators know the trick has started. That gives you more time and misdirection to load it into something. I like to make the bill appear inside a cigarette or in a bill tube. It also uses normal objects so it seems impromptu. Anyway, Just wanted to let those who where waiting know I finally got it finished. Ron Jaxon |

Ron, I couldn't find a video of the effect on your site, which is unusual. Do you have one in the works?
Thanks! |

I was just thinking about that too. I'm going to have to make one up. I'll see if I can get one in there this week.
Let me tell you what the effect looks like until then. You borrow a dollar bill (Can be signed or corner switch depending on where you want it magically travel to). You roll the bill around a CLEAR cigarette lighter and hold it in place with a rubber band. You can now cause the bill to vanish from the lighter. You can also make it reappear back on the lighter if you wish but I like to cause it to travel somewhere else such as in a cigarette, in a marker, Bill tube, Mint tin or where ever you wish. I'm sure the first thought that'll come to you mind is the paddle move. My original "Bill Burner" was just that but think about it. It's a clear lighter. They can see both sides of the lighter so they know the bill can't be under it. I know it's easy enough to vanish a bill with just sleight of hand but here's the advantage of this gimmick. The bill is gone and can be loaded into the place where it'll appear before the trick even starts. For example let's say you're going to make the bill appear in a bill tube. The presentation will be like this. The borrowed bill is signed, rolled around a clear lighter and held in place with a rubber band. The magician pulls out a brass tube that's locked closed with a pad lock (Bill tube) and hands it to a spectator to hold. Attention is then brought to the bill wrapped around the lighter. The bill completely vanishes leaving the magicians with nothing in his hands but a lighter. The spectator unlocks the brass tube and finds the signed bill inside. So you're load is done before the bill vanishes. When I did this at a lecture the magicians there where laughing as they handed the gimmick around because it's a pretty unique method. I think the principle it uses will someday find a place for other objects and tricks as well. I have a few other ideas that'll make use of the principle already. Anyway, I'll get a video made as soon as I can. Ron Jaxon |

One quick question...
If you are using a signed bill and you can load it before the effect even starts, why would you bother with a corner switch? Why not just tear the corner and give them the real thing? "You borrow a dollar bill (Can be signed or corner switch depending on where you want it magically travel to)." There are a tons of ways to load to places i.e. bill in lemon that allow for a signed bill. Just a question. Sounds great and I can’t wait to see the demo. C |

There are basically 3 ways to make the bill magically travel into something (Like a cigarette, marker or box of some kind).
-A secret way to load the signed bill into the object during performance. -Secretly switch the bill that really comes out of the object for the signed one. -Do a corner switch so the corner matches the one that really comes out of the object. So the corner switch is just one method of accomplishing it. Keep in mind. This trick is a way to vanish a bill. As you said, there are hundreds of ways and places to make it appear. I'll get that demo made soon. Ron Jaxon Posted: Jun 3, 2005 1:43pm ---------------------------------------------------------- I just found out there's another post about this trick. I don't have a video made for it yet because my camera isn't working. I'll get it fixed or see if I can borrow one from someone though. Click here to check out the other post about this trick.
