(c) 1982-1992 by Richard Kaufman Published by Kaufman & Greenberg Is this a worthy investment? I did a search here but I could not find any in depth reviews for it. Is looks very enticing.

Its absolutly worth your time and your investment. It contains top notch material from the magic's cream de la cream.

There have been threads on this before .
Its an very good book with loads of stuff. Maybe too much because it takes forever to work through. Mostly cards, but very good coin tricks too. Buy it |

Don't have the hardcover version but subscribed to this magazine when it came out in 1982. Some excellent material here.

I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three. Elayne Boosler

What more can I say? I concur, it is well worth your money.

My favorite book. I like this a lot more then the Lorayne Apocalypse, although the first year of that was great.

I'm thinking about getting it. Could anyone tell me what percentage of the book is card magic? I'm not into cards but more or less, everything else. Coins, keys, money, matches, etc.
Could someone please elaborate. It would be greatly appreciated. Best, Matt |

There are other effects besides cards: coins, rubber bands, bills etc though a good percentage is cards (70%?). One nice thing about the book is that Kaufman lists his favorite tricks in the intro and those were the ones I learned first and IMO they were good choices on his part.

This is an excellent book. And what I especially like: at the beginning you are provided with a list of the "Top 36 effects". So you have a very good starting point for this book!

I have it and it's just wonderfull to know that if you pick that book up and just browse to it, you'll always end up reading something you have not read before or forgot about. There's simply so much in it! It's great to see what kind of idea's Dai Vernon, Derek Dingle, Larry Jennings, Slydini etc. had about magic, when you don't have their books. It's absolutely fabulous.

Sirbrad, the Collected Almanac by Richard Kaufman is definitely a worthy investment. Yes, it does contain mostly card and coin magic but the remainder of the book contains some great Close-up magic effects and other types of magic. I would suggest that you buy this book if you are serious about magic because the Collected Almanac has many great magic effects within its covers and it is worth every penny you spent on the book.

Well being I have been involved with this art for 25 years now, I suppose that would make me serious. I am convinced that this book will be a more than worthy investment. Thank you all! Sold!
