Steve Bedwell has a very nice routine where a credit card is placed into an envelope (pay envelope style of envelope), then bent back and forth (a la’ bending coin) and accidentally broken in half (the sound of the break is clearly heard). Then the envelope is torn in half, again into quarters, showing the credit card has vanished. It is found in the performers wallet.
The artist formally known as Mumblepeas!

Jay Sankey has an effect similar to the one Harry mentioned called "Extended Credit." It appeared at one time in Genii Magazine and can also be found in his notes "Twenty Years of Magic," which can probably be found at http://www.sankeymagic.com.
His effect does not have the card ending up in the performers wallet. That is a great twist on this effect. I want to look into that little extra myself! |

Cut a credit card into pieces...put it into your hand... show it restored..or not. Then mend the pieces into two halves. Flash restore into a full card...then into your business card if you want.
Patter/routing of course is not given...but that's a general description of an effect that I use. |

There's a wonderful trick in one of Ammar's ETMCM series that utilizes a credit card in one of the tricks. I'm not just sure what the name is but I think it was in the like in a torn and restored card trick.

Mark Leveridge has a wonderful credit card transpo effect that is excellent. I think it is called "Credit Card Scare." The routine is very effective for lay audiences...much more than you would otherwise think. While his presentational premise of "scaring" the credit card is a little lame in my opinion, there are numerous other ways to frame the effect.

Michael Ammar has some use of credit cards as finale for effects as well as brief interludes in longer routines.
IMHO the title Easy to Master is a misnomer! Even self working stuff is never easy to master. Just two credit cards worth from... Harris

I think the Easy to Master title does not refer to the tricks at all. I think it refers to the way Michael explains the working of each trick and the master practice session included at the end of every set of tricks that makes it easy to master.

Brian,
Thanks for the explanation. Mr. Ammar is a great teacher(IMHO) and a very nice person.(At least when I have met him) He has come to the KC area several times. He even was one of the instructors at THE WORKSHOP in nearby St. Joseph Missouri. Harris
