I have been using the BCS since the dvds came out and have been on the search for new or other effects that the BTCS can do. Has anyone read or created anything?

I believe you already checked this out, but just in case.

Well, here's my take on it: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=14
a bit o' "Bizarre", but the premise is workable from other angles... |

So that makes a total of 6 effects you can do with the BTCS I sure hope osterlind has some more effects he will come out with via book or dvd. I love this Card System.
Thanks guys.

ANy effect which uses a stack can work with the BCS.
I mean think about what the system lets you do. "know the value of a card / group of cards" that info forms the basis of nearly all card tricks. Curt

If you are a mentalist and not a magician, I would say that those six effect should carry you a long way.
Right done, they are 6 different effects, which are more than sufficiant. As a mentalist I would never do more than one, or at the most two effects with cards for the same people. Learn those effects well, and you have an unbeatable arsenal. ....and by the way, put Doug Dyment's words to your heart; "The hobbyist performs many routines for the same audiences. The professional performs the same routines for many audiences." Sven

Well put Sven. While I experiment with new effects, THe core effects of my close up show are 80% the same as they were 15 years ago.

The BCS is perfect for Marc Paul's 'Giant card mind reading' effect.
As I stated in the other BCS thread, I use it as an out when using the classic force. This isn't an effect, but it sure comes in handy. Another idea is to use it for 'Lazy Man's Card Trick' by Al Koran. A smart spec can notice something at the crucial point in this effect. The BCS practically eliminates this risk. |

"Any effect that uses a stack will work with the BCS".........
there are many effects (many by Annemann)in Hugards Encyclopaedia ofcard tricks that use the older stacks that will not work using BCS because of the special cylindrcal nature of the stack. Dave |

I do Ted Lesley's Working Preformers Card Stab using the BCS instead of Lesley's clever secret. I throw in a more "test conditions" build up and presentation (I look away or turn my back almost the whole time and never touch the cards once the spectator begins cutting to their selection). I have also thought of doing this routine blindfolded but haven't worked on it yet (other blindfold routines using cards may have good effect or impact--wadda ya think?).

I believe Richard himself suggested this in one of his books, used in combination with his steel blindfold.
