Quick Note:
I just started stacking so I wanted to pick up a surface that I could use on the table that I practice the rest of my magic on. I went to target and picked up a 16 x 20 poly cutting board. $14.99 and works like a champ. I don't find the size too small, I picked up (one at at time) and stacked four dice on my third try!! It may be a bit small for some of the larger sweeping pickups but I've not had any problems with it at all. Also, it is kind of nice faux black granite, looks pretty good. Vandy

I will have some pictures of the reversable stacking close-up "boards" later today.

Hay Jonathan, 12 x 16 should be plenty big. Just remember that your arm can make the swings wider if you have to. I don't have any problem with that size. What size cup are you using? I will measure my cup tomorrow. It's a perfect cup as far as I'm concerned. I've got a number of them but this particular one is magic. Pete Biro gave it to me over 10 years ago and I've never seen another like it.
On another note, Ive got a half dozen of those double sided tables about done but I will need a few hours tomorrow to get some pictures. I slap ran out of daylight today. I've made them about 16.5" x 25.5" with black formica glued to one side of 3/4" birch ply with the other side with a quarter inch of blackjack table padding and surfaced with 100% green gaming table wool. I've got the table frames made and stained with some dark walnut stain. I will hit them with some satin polyurethane in the morning and put one together and shoot some pics. I'm keeping the first one this time. Looks like it will be a super surface on either side. I'm thinking about sewing up some nice black canvas pouches to put them in. I'll list them over on the Genii Forum tomorrow sometime and offer the others to the magicians who hang out there. And I will let y'all know when they are done and post a picture here so you can see. Pete Biro told me years ago that I should make some tables like this and Im glad I finally got around to it. your pal, -=tabman

As promised, here are some pics of the new Tabman Table. It works great and the size is plenty large enough - 25" x 16.5".
http://questx.com/tables/stacker.jpg I have posted more info on it over on the Genii Forum: http://geniimagazine.com/forum/cgi-bin/u......t=004700 -=tabman

Thanks Pete. Coming from you I appreciate it very much. I broke mine in last night and used it as a lap table while we were watching fireworks on tv. I should have made some of these years ago.

A few days ago, I took out and viewed Jim Zachary's video, the Art of Dice Stacking and wached it intently and with great appreciation for this Master in the Art of Dice Stacking.
I was both surprised and pleased, to see that Mr.Zachary himself was demonstrating his techniques on a board similar in size to mine. Through this instructional video, Mr. Zachary reminded me of that the key to stacking is not in making large arm movements, but instead relies on the repeated flick and arc of the wrist. Once I practiced this style of stacking on my small (but now suddenly sufficient) 16 by 12 inch surface, within five minutes, it all "came back" to me. I was stacking without fail over and over and with renewed confidence and zest. Many thanks Mr. Zachary! Immediately after viewing Mr. Zachary's tape, I pulled out my Classics of Magic Video showing the wonderful Mike Rogers sharing his techniques and routines of Dice stacking. What a treat (at 2 a.m., I was wide awake and totally enjoying the showmanship and sage advice). Thank you Mike. You are sorely missed, but your spirit and geneorsity live on. Sincerely, Jonathan
