I'm starting to think predicting a "thought of" person might be a bit too perfect, too far fetched, when using something like the SUC case.
a short list of predictions I've been toying with: 1) a pet's name 2) favorite time of year 3) birth sign any other ideas? |

There are hundreds of things you can 'read' (a prediction is something you predict will happen in the future, like a headline prediction). Use you imagination and continue writing your list. Try and be creative and try to stay clear of the cliched (sp) ones that you have already listed. Fred Darevil in some of his recent posts shows the level of creativity you should be thinking at.

Something I got from a Lee Earl lecture recently. Never do a headline prediction that where the headline has some tragic loss of life in it. Just thought I would mention it.

As discussed recently, by Ted Lesley and others in a recent posting there are ways around this if the headline is that for a tragedy.
- Use tabloids or the ridiculous - Modify the wording of the prediction (e.g. Ted's example 'two girls in a forest with animals around') - Don't use the front page headline but another headline within the paper. - Anagrams, I don't know if anyone has used this approach in this circumstance?? Hi Paul
Lior Manor from Israel predicted the lottery numbers and became very famous for that reason. He and Ami Dayan did an election prediction with a safe. They didn't touch the safe or the envlope at the day of opening. I have no Idea how it was done... They got headlines on the newspapers (They could predict it Shimi |

What's wrong with lottery numbers?
The 'winnings' issue can be overcome by being one number away from each number if you are bothered by this, or do you just worry about being kidnapped or is it as simple as being 'too dull'? Regards, Kris Sheglova

Kris et al,
I suggest not predicting the actual winning lottery numbers for a simple reason - it may appear fixed AND if you predicted them why did you not win it? The same reason that if you were to predict the winning trifactor at the race track, that they want to avoid any possible appearance of impropriety. As far as being one off, I do a piece on stage now based on that AND it strated about 15 years ago for me. Long story short, within that period I have not only actually purchased tickets for the 6/49 (pick 6 numbers out of 49) and had all my numbers exactly one above or one below the numbers drawn (The first time, they also have an "extra" number on the bottom and if you match all the numbers from the last digit forward, you win $100,000. and all my numbers matched except the last number which was exactly one digit off) BUT this has happened to me 5 seperate times, one time with 5 out of six that way and the other number was correct and once with the Super 7 (requires picking 7 numbers) where I did the same with 6 out of seven. I finally decided that I am doomed never to win it BUT I still by the tickets because if I do hit the numbers, the publicity alone about a psychic entertainer that won the lottery - well the publicity alone would be worth far more than the few millions won in the lottery itself. The impact of a prediction is often better if it is sort of believable, e.g. "it could be true". Therefore, less is often more. -Mahlstrom |
