Thanks Dan...
Overall I liked the DVD very much. The entire DVD was shot on location in Oregon in front of a liquor store and various others places. The effects are fresh and different. My favorites include "Bareing The Load" (Cards under box), "Coinfusing Production" (3 Coin Production and Vanish Sequence), and the linking coin purse routine (one of the bonus routines). My only gripe would be with the angles and lighting during some of the performance section. There were a few parts where I wasn't sure what had happened. This happened only once or twice and really wasn't that big of a deal. Anyone interested in good close up material with cards, coins, and other various items, I would recommend checking out PAYPhone by Corey Burke. What I especially liked about the DVD was the "new wave cutting age" presentation of the magic. Not your usual template of "present a trick (to an audience of magicians or magician's friends), explain a trick" OR the presentation of "present the entire repetroire (to an audience of magicians or magician's friends), and then explain the entire repetroire".
Instead, the presentation is done in a VERY ENTERTAINING and DIFFERENT manner. (i.e., not the repetitive L&L audience type presentation). I don't necessarily have anything against the L&L type presentation (after all, these are supposed to be instructional videos) but it is refreshing to see a different irreverent humor-filled presentation. And, as I recall, the magic is not bad either. (grin) (I only watched the DVD one time (i.e., while it was still in pre-production mode), so, unfortunately, I cannot comment on any of the specific effects.) But I do remember that I liked the way the magic was presented and I thought that from an audience standpoint, most of the magic was "magical" and entertaining. Hope this helps. Mike

I agreee that Dan does an excellent job with his reviews. Thanks Dan!
To answer the question of "is this in any magic shops?" not at the moment. Murphy's is carrying the DVD and I imagine that the shops will get thier copies in early July. As of right now the DVD can only be purchased in one place. I cannot actually tell you where, but I am sure that you can imagine who is selling them. ;-) Thank you and have awonderful day! Corey |

I really enjoyed this DVD. There is a lot of great routines on this DVD. I started using some of them right away. And for those of you out here on the east coast, rumor has there may be a lecture tour soon.
Best, Joe

The DVD is modern in consept & Corey is one of the new breed of good sleight of hand artist who does'nt mind puting the work in. His handling of cards & coins is very good, I didn't find a great deal of original material but the idea of useing the deck like a mobil phone will appeal to most people of this era I don't think the material will be beyond any students worth their salt Add this one to your Library, Kevin fox .

Hey guys,
I got Corey's DVD yesteray in the mail. I have to say that this is one of the best purchases I've made this year. I have known Corey for a long time. He was the first person to teach me effects such as 3fly and the muscle pass, matrix... I am glad to see that other people can now get to know the magic of Corey. His stuff fried me all the time at Callin's Magic back in the day. Corey, thanks for pointing me in the right directions. Watching this DVD was enjoyable. It was humorous and different from your usual instructionals. I have a few new favorites. The version of 3 fly was nice in the way he had the spectator help him. I like magic that has the spectator be apart of the magic as much as possible. Infact, most of his effects are like that. For years I wanted him to teach me that "For promotional use only" effect. I love the fact that this is included. The reactions it gets at tables when he closes with this effect are golden. I hope to start using it real soon. And it is definately nice to see magicians using silks every now and then. His version of Expansion of Texture is killer. The kicker at the end where the coins switch place without cover of the silk had me do a double take. Good stuff bro! If you guys are lucky enough, you will find the bonus material. It took me forever to find it. Its hidden in the DVD. Well, it didn't take forever, but it felt like it. It was definately worth it to find that. Corey, keep the DVD's coming. I certainly have a new favorite. Take care, Brian |
