Hi all
I am after a number force, I have dice with me, is there any good number forces using dice? Or is there any other method out there that you like to force a number? |

What's the effect and is there a particular number that you're trying to force?

Maybe you should check out the "Mathematical Equations" section. There are several number forces you could employ.
Using dice there is a simple technique that can force multiples of 7: Just add the face value to the number on the reverse side. For six-sided dice that yields seven and for n-sided dice (i.e., 8-, 10-, 12-, and 20) that yields (n+1). This is obviously not working for 4 sides. I think other (non-polytope) dice follow the same rule. Beware, thought, that many people know about this property. If you consider using other than 6-sided dice many people will be suspicious of them since they are typically only used in table-top RPGs. |

If you want to force a 3 ask them to pick a number between 2 and 4!!!!

There is a Jack Dean idea you can use, a little contrived but workable.
What you do is take a magic marker and make a bunch of flash cards (say 20) that have simple math problems on them. All the problems have the same answer. Example: 2x4-3=, 3x5-10=, 2+2+1=, 9-6+2= (ALL THESE TOTAL 5) It is important that the problems be VERY simple so they can be solved by any math challenged idiot. You need at least 15 to 20 of them. Have one or two problems that give a different total. This way you can demo what the person is to do. Fan out the flash cards showing them different, then have the person pull out one and solve the problem in their head. You have them do this to INSURE a random number. It is an easy way to force a number but for some people a bit too contrived. |

Is there such a thing as weighted dice where it rolls to that number every time without the roll looking suspicious? I know you can get dice with magnets inside, but the roll may look suspicious when it clings to the magnet.

Tbaer-these exist and the best ones are sold with an identical normal dice.
So it can be switched and examined. |
