Hi Troops!
I just won "Money Maker - wood" from Ebay about a week ago. The unit came to me a bit beat up & cheaply made. After reading the instructions, I found out that the unit was made by "MM". I did not know who or what is "MM." So,after doing a search , my heart sank to my feet. Where do I buy the original item & not what I believe is a "knock off". I hope I posted this in the correct forum. It's 4 in the morning here in Mich. & I just could not sleep thinking about this. TIA for all who can help me in my quest for the real item. Frank Thomas P.S. I called the seller and he is going to send me another .....GREAT now I have 2 paper weights.

Hi Frank:
Here is a very nice one made by Mikame; I'm pretty sure it's more money than the one you bought one ebay: http://www.stevensmagic.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=1310 Ron |

Thanks, guys for the info. When I did my search I found the Magic Fackers web site. Boy, did that open my eyes! that's when I realized I was deep doo doo. The money maker that I'm looking for has a tray & a curve type printer that is separate from the tray. The Mikami unit is nice but not what I can operate......only have one useful arm & hand.

What you are looking for is called a "Delbin Blotter". They are collectable. I do believe that they are being re-made. I can not tell you who would carry it but you might try Hocus-Pocus.

Danny of Danny's Trix and Kix in Spring/Houston, Texas owns the rights to the Delbin line of products. You might give his shop a call and see if he is still making them. I used to work there in the summer and was lucky enough to pick one up. I also managed to get my hands on a Delbin Domino. Last I heard he was going to be manufacturing both of these effects again.

Hello again, Frank:
I would order the blotter from the Trickery - the one that brian provided the link. I have bought a number of unique items from the Trickery, and they have all been excellent. The Trickery finds craftsmen who'll manufacture high quality items. As for it being a knock off, I doubt that it is. You can call Howard at the Trickery - he, along with others like Denny Haney and Joe Stevens, has been a crusader for not ripping off others, so this would be out-of-character for him to sell a knock off of someone else's trick. Others here know magic history much better than I do, but I'm pretty sure the magic blotter does not originate with Ben Stone (Delben); I think it goes back further than that, and is now in the public domain. Hopefully, someone here can set the record straight. Ron |

I do not think it is a knock off per say I was compating it to the Delbin I have.

Hank Lee also sells a very elegant money blotter with inlaid polished wood for about $85.00.
