Hi everybody!
Could any of you suggest for me, some best props for a flower production, the kind with a pin that spike in the stage? I’d like to use it as an opener in the stage-show: in a magical maner, I’d like to produce four bunch flowers (the same that appear from the sleeve) and then let them go down (by gravity) and nail into the wood stage to create some choreography. Any suggestion? I'm thinking of that tube, (I don't remember the name at this time) with another inner tube that creates a space to hide some things, (foular, sreamer...) but that creates the illusion, looking across it on the audience, that it's empty. Then produce the first bunch, show it empty, produce the second one, ect.... But I don't know if it is the best method. Thank you! Ste |

I remember seeing Blackstone Jr. produce bouquet darts from a large foulard -- very showy! Abbottsmagic.com has them.

The flowers with spikes tend to be very pricey and are not too practical unless you have a wood floor, and the owner or operator of the stage or floor does not mind the holes.
In a more practical manner, yet still a nice prop, you can get a silk that has feather flowers in each of the 4 corners. They look good and make a nice production, of fairly large flowers. This is fine for most platform/stage work...unless you are working pretty big theatres. If so you need the effect you mentioned or even something to produce real flowers...which I have seen in books. quack |

The way to get around damaging the stage is to bring your own boards to lay on the stage. Then, you just have to make sure you aim reasonably well!

Ste: The effect that Alan mentioned is called Garden of Flowers. It comes in several sizes. It is supplied with feather bouquets but you could substitute darts and use Magicmikey's idea of using your own wood boards to protect the floor.

Thank to all who help me!
I've something reply: If I have understood, you suggest for me not to damage the stage, to use my own wood plate for spike the flower; it is also useful if the stage is not made of wood. For the appearing bouquet, I'm very interesting in the big foulard you mentioned. Basically is perhaps a foulard with four hidden pocket sewed at the corner? Is right? And for the tube I mentioned, it is right: the Raymond tube. For you, is not a good idea? Thanks to all! Ste |

I don't seem to find a "connection" between the tube and the flowers...
I think the others ideas are best Also the flowers would be very tightly put in the tube and you would have to think of a way to produce the four bunches of flowers one at a time... Rui Fernandes

Garden of Flowers with darts do not work well as the darts get stuck in fabric. I made Blackstone's. Dart were not loaded into bag. There are lots of other methods to produce bouquets, bushes or botanias. Check on my videos on hughesmagic. com for more info or write.
Flowers are expensive but with care they last many years. Blackstone stuff is still working as was made in 1976.

The garden of flowers is not hard at all. We did the entire production ourselves. The flowers are made of silk and they are beautiful. There are actually 3 seperate parts and 2 sets. Uncle Harry used to do them like his dad, and my dad did them just like Sr. It's very beautiful when it's done just right.

What about replacing the dart end with some sort of weight. Perhaps a lead sinker used in fishing. This way the effect would be the same and when they land they would stand up, but without damaging the floor. The added bonus would be that, it doesn't matter what the floor is made of, it still works.

Hi, It need not b dart bouquets, U can also use flowers / bouquets with an eyelet on the to, make a designer stand on both sides and hang the productions.
easy for clearing the stage also. try it out if it suits your show. |
